Kana'iolowalu Registry Surges with Addition of Verified Native Hawaiians by OHA
The Native Hawaiian Roll Commission welcomes the addition of tens of thousands of Native Hawaiians whose ancestry have been confirmed by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) to the Kana`iolowalu registry.
All Native Hawaiians who decide to sign-up now and until January 19, 2014, will move forward towards self-determination and self-governance. In the process, we expect our status as indigenous peoples will afford us better legal protections and opportunities to manage and benefit from natural, cultural, and other resources belonging to Native Hawaiians.
To check if your name is included in the movement forward towards self-determination and self-governance, click the following link and complete the form.
Your record will appear if you: 1) registered directly with Kana’iolowalu, or 2) registered with the Office of Hawaiian Affair’s Kau Inoa Registry or Operation ‘Ohana AND the Office of Hawaiian Affair’s confirmed your ancestry.
An announcement will be made when additional names are transferred, such as from the Hawaiian Registry.
